Shawn Sweeney
Managing Partner

Shawn is the founder and managing partner of Spinnaker Consulting Group. Shawn launched Spinnaker when he saw first-hand the need for providing clients with experience-based resources who could roll up their sleeves and deliver tangible, lasting results.

In his 14 years as an executive with a Fortune 200 financial services company, Shawn led a variety of organizations, including Strategy and Analysis, Operations, and IT. He was often called on to spearhead turn-around situations or develop and build new organizations. Today, he leverages these experiences to help his clients meet the changing demands from customers, regulators and competitors. Shawn’s expertise and leadership have been leveraged at companies including American Express and Capital One.

Shawn is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and served our country as a submarine officer before entering the corporate world. He resides in Richmond, Virginia with his wife Lauren, son Stephen and daughter Savannah. When he’s not supporting his clients, you can find Shawn and his family sailing on the Chesapeake Bay or traveling to somewhere fun.

Brett Ludden

Brett Ludden

Brett is a Principal with Spinnaker Consulting Group. He focuses on helping clients leverage analytics to enable better business decisions.

During his 21 years in the financial services industry, Brett has worked across the spectrum: leading teams at one of the largest banks in the United States and playing a critical leadership role in a start-up organization.

At Capital One, Brett led analytics teams that focused on credit card fraud prevention, mortgage fraud identification and reporting, marketing strategy, credit policy, business development, and credit risk management.

As the first employee of a financial services start-up, Brett was a jack of all trades, leading marketing strategy, IT, operations, recruiting, sales, processing, underwriting, and the company’s inaugural recycling program.

Brett has an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia where he studied Mechanical Engineering. He lives in Hume, Virginia with his wife Hayley and their two spoiled dogs. When Brett isn’t busy solving business problems, he and his wife love to travel.

Rick Jaros

Rick is a Principal with Spinnaker Consulting Group. With rich experience in digital integration, business strategy, operational and process improvement, and change management, Rick’s focus area includes digital transformation across financial institutions.

In his 20 years as an executive with some of the largest banks in the US, Rick gained deep experience in the credit card business leading the efforts to develop, launch and optimize new card products for multiple leading monoline companies. During this time, he led a variety of teams driving fundamental change and significantly expanded digital sales and servicing performance.

Prior to entering financial services, Rick was a Nuclear Qualified Officer in the US Navy assigned to the USS Bergall. He held several key roles while on board, including the Damage Control Assistant, where he was responsible for implementing a new process for maintaining the quality control procedures for all nuclear and hull integrity systems.

Rick has a Bachelor of Engineering degree from The State University of New York Maritime College and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin. He lives in southern New Jersey with his wife. Their daughter is a recent graduate of The University of Pittsburgh where their son is a junior. For relaxation, Rick makes detailed wooden models of 1800’s sailing ships.

Paul Blodgett
Interim COO

Paul Blodgett is Spinnaker’s new interim COO. He will help execute on new initiatives while overseeing the Operations, Finance, and Human Resource teams.

Paul brings 25 years of experience on Wall Street, where he most recently headed the Operations and Technology platform for DWS Americas at Deutsche Bank. Prior to that, he served as regional Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for the combined Asset & Wealth Management divisions for Deutsche Bank in the Americas. Before that, he served as regional COO for the Asset Management Institutional Sales and Distribution teams in the Americas.

Paul’s significant executive experience in the financial services industry, especially in the asset and wealth management fields, makes him a valuable addition to the team. As an experienced manager known for building a strong and diverse team, Paul focuses on continuous improvements and tangible results. His proven successes include mergers and acquisition/divestiture activity, and leading large-scale regulatory change initiatives.

Paul has an undergraduate degree from Ohio State University and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Fordham Gabelli School of Business. He and his family currently live in Ridgewood, New Jersey. Paul has a passion for cycling and Buckeye football.

Scott Hamilton
Head of Service Delivery

With nearly 30 years of experience leading enterprise-wide improvement efforts in the financial services industry, Scott brings extensive knowledge and expertise to the Spinnaker team. He is an inclusive, solutions-focused, battle-tested leader with a passion for solving the most complicated of challenges.

Scott brings to Spinnaker an extensive background in sales, fulfillment, and operations, and their underlying technology platforms. He spent the first half of his career with GE Capital launching start-ups, integrating acquisitions, and running a variety of key businesses. More recently, he leveraged the breadth of his experience to lead a series of strategically important redesign efforts in the home equity and deposit businesses, delivering step-change improvements in speed, cost, satisfaction, and compliance.

Scott’s current focus is on guiding large financial institutions through the complexities of process redesign efforts. He excels at value chain optimization, regulatory event remediation, and acquisition due diligence and integration, and has the unique ability to lead diverse teams through complex people, process, technology, and policy improvement efforts.

He received a B.B.A. from Emory University and is a certified Six Sigma Master Blackbelt. He is FINRA Series 7 and 63 registered. Scott has had the opportunity to live, work, and travel in much of the world — with his two sons, now mostly grown, in tow.


Ben Abbott

Ben is a Consultant with Spinnaker Consulting Group. He helps clients make better use of data, rigorously exploring all available information and then focusing on what is most important to drive better results.

In his 20+ year career, Ben has held analytics roles at a variety of companies across industries, including over 10 years at Capital One. Prior to joining Spinnaker, Ben built and ran his own consulting practice that focused on helping companies better leverage their digital properties.

During his time at Capital One, Ben’s responsibilities included marketing strategy, product strategy, credit policy, customer management, and call center analytics. He led teams of analysts as well as cross functional project teams. He also played key roles in launching Capital One’s early digital capabilities for both acquiring and managing customers.

Ben has an undergraduate degree from Harvard University where he studied Chemistry. He lives in Arlington, VA with his wife Christa and their three children. When Ben isn’t working on Spinnaker projects, he can often be found volunteering with his kids’ soccer teams or Cub Scout dens or helping his wife out with the test prep business she founded.

Belinda Allen

Belinda is a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager and Risk Compliance Consultant with Spinnaker Consulting Group. With more than 20 years of experience in financial services, Belinda brings to Spinnaker a depth of knowledge across risk management, compliance, banking, home loans, auto, operations, and program and project management. She has a track record of driving process efficiencies, increasing employee engagement, and developing successful programs to manage and mitigate risk.

Prior to joining Spinnaker, Belinda worked for Fortune 100 financial service companies, leading business risk teams, top risks, service level quality programs, and project and program implementations. In addition, she developed and led a compliance program, new system implementation, and the training and management of business risk teams at a $15B company.

Belinda has developed her expertise and leadership by regularly being asked to lead process improvements and regulatory matters requiring attention, as well as develop and build new programs. Today she leverages these experiences to help her clients meet the changing demands of the industry. Belinda’s expertise and leadership have been leveraged at companies including USAA and Capital One.

Belinda is a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager. She has attended the University of Southern Indiana, University of Evansville, Kirchman Regulatory, Institute of Certified Bankers, and American Institute of Banking. She resides in Florida with her fur babies. When she’s not supporting her clients, Belinda is looking for new places to explore. Belinda enjoys traveling by air as she pursues her pilot’s license, and on foot as an avid runner. The recipient of multiple recognitions for her philanthropy, Belinda enjoys spending time as a YWCA youth mentor, Habitat for Humanity volunteer, and Humane Society Board Member and volunteer.

Veronica L. Baker-Adams

With more than 25 years of experience in the Financial Services Industry, Veronica, a Consultant with Spinnaker Consulting Group, has built a reputation as a dynamic and forward-thinking Risk professional.

During her time at a Fortune 200 company Veronica led risk management teams in supporting the achievement of strategic objectives for servicing, lending and operations functions within their Retail and Commercial Banking divisions. Veronica has a proven track record for designing, implementing and evolving operations and processes that are designed to mitigate risk and improve efficiency. She does all this while providing an exemplary customer experience.

Veronica excels at analyzing risk and compliance related issues to understand the root cause for most effective problem solving. She is an avid learner and integrative thinker who builds meaningful relationships and champions value end-to-end solutioning.

When not in the office Veronica is a runner and enjoys traveling to new places in search of culinary experiences. A graduate of the University of Maryland with a degree in Business Administration, she is also very passionate about mentoring those early in their professional journey.

Samantha Bourne

With over 15 years of experience in the Financial Services industry for a Fortune 500 company, Samantha brings both Risk Management and Operations expertise to Spinnaker Consulting Group. She led a variety of operational teams, successfully driving strategic growth and operational excellence while providing an excellent customer experience. Her passion for risk management was the driving force for improving inefficiencies and decreasing financial and compliance risk.

Some of her experience includes: executing the implementation of an underwriting and risk transaction monitoring engine, successfully launching same-day merchant funding and decreasing fraud and credit losses from 25 basis points to 6 basis points, while delivering a best-in-class customer experience. Over the years she has led multiple operation restructuring projects to support business growth and acquisitions. She has a reputation for her ability to develop, motivate, and lead high performing teams in dynamic and complex business environments.

Samantha attended American Intercontinental University where she received a degree in Business Administration. She takes great joy in inspiring and mentoring others to never give up on their dreams and goals, bother personally and professionally.

Samantha resides in North Texas with her husband and four children. When she is not entertaining her friends or attending her children’s sporting events, you can find her at the lake relaxing and soaking up the sunshine.

Christine Dodson

Christine is a Consultant with Spinnaker Consulting Group and brings with her more than 12 years of experience in financial services from Capital One. Her background and focus throughout her career has been in risk management, mortgage originations, auto, and compliance and process improvement in banking.

She has a passion for process improvement which has led her to both lead and implement multiple regulatory control and testing build out projects for Capital One. Christine has completed several process improvement courses and holds her BPM certification. To better serve her clients and team she is working towards her Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager certification.

Christine has a passion for helping others feel good about themselves which led her to recently get her personal training certification. She lives in Little Elm, Texas and loves traveling with her family, boating, watching sports, and just about anything involving the outdoors.

Jack Gooding

With over 11 years of experience in analytics for a Fortune 200 company, Jack brings both technical and strategic expertise to Spinnaker Consulting Group. Jack leverages data and technology to develop creative and impactful business solutions.

Jack is an accomplished data analytics leader. He has developed talent supporting all aspects of Operations and effectively built offshore teams to support critical business processes. Prior to joining Spinnaker, Jack managed data workstreams for several massive integration programs supporting tens-of-thousands of end users.

Jack’s significant analytical skill set includes SQL, Python, Business Intelligence tools, and data management expertise. He has served as Product Owner for data products and has experience operating in Agile. In addition to these technical skills, Jack has a passion for collaboration and fostering an environment for team success.

Originally from New Orleans, Jack graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, where he earned degrees in Mathematics and Economics. He now resides in Richmond, VA with his wife, Niki. Together, they enjoy all that Richmond has to offer, including its history, culture, and dining. They love to travel, both abroad and throughout the US.

Michele Gulasky

Michele joins Spinnaker Consulting Group as a results-driven leader who solves complex problems while tenaciously navigating unchartered territories. Michele’s collaborative approach and customer-centered consensus building maximizes her ability to achieve successful results and sustainable solutions for her clients.

Michele brings 20+ years of Project/Program Management, Process, Change Management, and Risk Management experience at Fortune 250 financial services corporations and has a proven track record in leading large-scale transformation efforts, solving complex problems, building effective teams, and driving solutions forward. She has managed integrations and regulatory changes, creating delivery frameworks that resulted in on-track and well-managed initiatives while optimizing the customer experience. She provides end to end support while implementing preventative control measures. She is a customer advocate and a trusted advisor in resolving business issues.

Michele has a Bachelors in English, Journalism, and Mass Communications from Elon University. She also studied Human Resource Development at George Washington University where she earned her Master’s Certificate in Project Management. Michele is a Project Management Professional (PMP) and additionally, has certification as an Agile Scrum Master and Lean. She lives in Glen Allen, VA with her husband Kenny and their three boys. Outside of the office, you can usually find her rooting on her sons at a variety of sporting events, hiking to a scenic view, and enjoying a number of water sports.

Craig Hannon

A Management Consultant with Spinnaker Consulting Group, Craig brings to the team more than 15 years of experience focusing on operations strategy and analytics.

Craig is an experienced business leader, working in Fortune 500 companies in areas ranging from wires operations to contact center strategy. He has an affinity for taking on the biggest challenges facing clients and delivering superior results. Craig excels in process and departmental transformation, highly analytical roles, and strategic planning in challenging environments. He is adept at analyzing complex data and structuring the findings into actionable plans.

Craig earned his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University and his MBA from Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis. He resides in Richmond, Virginia, with his wife Heather, and their four children. He enjoys youth coaching and cheering on his children’s many sports teams.

Deb Hollowell

Deb comes to Spinnaker Consulting Group with over two decades of financial / insurance experience with two Fortune 100 companies. She has a vast knowledge of 1st and 3rd party operations with a proven track record in each. Deb has a passion for getting to the heart of the issue through collaboration and building long lasting solutions through data mining and partnership.

Deb’s experience includes over a dozen years managing day to day operations and using statistical data to optimize performance and reduce network risk impacts. Most recently, Deb spent over eight years effectively managing and partnering with multiple 3rd party agencies within Recoveries for Card, Auto, and Demand Deposit. During this time, she was instrumental in risk identification, process improvements, establishing control monitoring, contract, policy and procedure review and achieved extensive expertise in on and off-boarding 3rd party partners. In addition, Deb was engaged in multiple business expansion projects, was a key contributor for the development of a new charged-off system, and was recognized for expanding digital collection operations, which resulted in over 100 million dollars per year.

Deb has a sincere passion for helping others achieve their best by mentoring and coaching. Recognized as a leader who is observant, listens, supports, and encourages, Deb helps other achieve what they never thought possible. She is Six Sigma Green Belt certified. Her past certifications / licenses have included work force management, Series 6 and 63 licenses, Property and Casualty, as well as Life and Health.

Deb graduated from the University of Mary Washington with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. When away from the office, Deb enjoys spending time with her husband Glenn and two sons:  Chase and Camden. Some of her passions include researching family history and reading.  She also spends a significant amount of time volunteering at Lifepoint Church as well as various other nonprofits in the Fredericksburg area.

Andy Krukiel

A consultant with Spinnaker Consulting Group, Andy has over 11 years of experience in the Financial Services industry spanning operations, finance, and analytics. Andy specializes in providing analytical solutions to business problems.

Prior to joining Spinnaker, Andy held various roles across multiple segments of the industry including Credit Card, Commercial Banking, Home Loans, and Auto Finance. Andy has built a reputation for creative problem-solving over his career by combining multiple disciplines to drive results with a structured, analytical approach.

Born and raised in Richmond, VA, Andy has a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Virginia Tech and an MBA from the University of Richmond. When away from the office, Andy enjoys running and motorcycling. He currently lives in Dallas, TX with his two children.

Stephanie Lennon

With nearly 25 years of bringing transformational programs to life across diverse industries, Stephanie joins the Spinnaker Consulting Group team. Her expertise includes helping evolve business strategies, optimizing customer service delivery, driving operational efficiencies, and managing complex organizational change. She is a pragmatic problem solver who maintains poise and a sense of humor under pressure.

Stephanie’s career started inside Japan’s nuclear power plants, where she successfully managed first-of-a-kind reactor modification projects for General Electric (“GE”) followed by a role in corporate audit where she reviewed 24 GE business across the globe. At AOL, she led customer service improvement efforts at a time when broadband technology was threatening AOL’s business model, pressuring budgets and requiring organizational change leadership.

At Capital One, Stephanie brought her call center expertise and analytics skills to bear in its credit card and commercial banking businesses. Working in an Agile environment, she led the Enterprise Payments product team through its cloud migration.

Stephanie earned her BS in Civil Engineering from MIT and MS in Structural Engineering from UC Berkeley. She lives in Richmond, Virginia with her husband and three young children. In addition to her role at Spinnaker, Stephanie and her husband run several local real estate investment businesses, a family passion.

Jeff Marshall

With more than 22 years in Financial Services, Jeff brings to Spinnaker a depth of knowledge across Risk Management and Operations. Specifically, he has a track record of turning ambiguous business problems into tangible results.

Prior to joining Spinnaker, Jeff worked for Fortune 500 Financial Service companies, running large Bank Operations teams, Auto Finance Operations teams, a $250MM Portfolio Management Office, and working in Risk Management at a company that grew from $1.5B in assets to $12B+ in five years.

At Spinnaker, Jeff applies his first-hand financial services knowledge to the Risk Management process, executing Risk Compliance Self Assessments that help businesses manage their day-to-day functions in a fully compliant manner, while also increasing their overall efficiency and effectiveness.

Jeff has his undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond and his Professional Master of Banking Certification from Louisiana State University. When he’s not shuttling his four children to various soccer and swimming activities, he spends a significant amount of time volunteering for Hope Church in Richmond.

Scott Mainwaring

Scott brings extensive experience leading operations with a high level of complexity and scale. Scott has a wide range of corporate experience, from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies, over the past two decades, serving as Vice President/Director at five Fortune 500 companies spanning the healthcare, financial services, insurance, and retail industries. He has led teams from as few as a handful of employees to an organization as large as 9,000, leading operations, service delivery, risk management, program management, transformation, client relations, and sales and service.

Scott has a proven track record of achievement, building performance-based cultures, setting strategic direction, and leading large multi-site domestic and international teams, driving business growth as well as significant customer experience improvements. He is a results-driven professional with a high focus on metrics and a collaborative team philosophy centered on engagement, performance, and accountability.

An experienced leader, Scott has deep knowledge in global operations, including outsourcing, in Asia and Central America, and utilizes his strong background in P&L management, Six Sigma as a certified Green Belt, project management, and analytics to support and deliver strong results.

In his free time, Scott plays competitive tennis, travels with his family, and has been enjoying (most of the time!) renovating his 100-year-old Revival house in Richmond, Virginia’s historic Fan district. He is an active volunteer at Sportable, an organization that transforms the lives of people with visual and physical disabilities through sport.

Jeri Mulholland

Jeri Mulholland

Jeri is a solutions-driven operation and risk management professional with almost 20 years’ experience in three top Fortune 100 Financial Services companies. She excels at collaboration and relationship building within organizations to ensure a 360 view of issues, challenges and projects to ensure the customer, employees and clients’ needs are met and exceeded.

Jeri has spent the last several years managing all aspects of operations, risk, controls, project management and process improvement for a Fortune 100 Financial Services company. She believes collaboration and relationship building was vital to her success in developing, implementing and maintaining efficient, compliant, teammate and customer-centric operations in support of the overall business plan and strategic vision of the organizations.

At Spinnaker Jeri will apply her first-hand knowledge and experience at all levels of financial services companies to create efficient, compliant and goal-centric solutions to exceed her customer’s expectations.

Jeri moved to Richmond, VA a few years ago and is learning all things, Virginia. In Pennsylvania, Jeri attended Central Penn College, was active in Junior Achievement and a Board Member of a nonprofit organization centered around helping educate children with limited opportunities. Jeri considers herself a lifelong learner and an advocate for children.

Jeri loves to travel the world. She tries to find a new country to visit every year. When she is not traveling you will likely find her reading mystery novels on a beach with her husband, kids and grandchildren.

Doug Murphy

Doug is a Consultant with Spinnaker Consulting Group. An experienced and proven business professional for 15 years with a Fortune 200 company, Doug is adept at solving the biggest and most complex challenges across operations and corporate groups of large organizations. He facilitates and creates implementation strategies that are transferable and sustainable providing long-term value to his clients. Currently, Doug leverages these experiences to consult with clients to innovate their business or solve their highest priority issues. He has a diverse set of skills spanning analytics, team leadership, technology, regulatory compliance, program management, and process management. Doug’s experience and skill set have been leveraged at companies including Capital One.

Doug is a graduate of both the United States Naval Academy and Naval Postgraduate School. He served our country as a submarine officer for 12 years before entering the corporate world where he continued his service in the Navy Reserves until retiring in 2008. He resides in Richmond, Virginia with his wife Helen and his sons Sean and Aiden. When he is not supporting his clients, Doug and his family enjoy traveling just about anywhere.

Shekhar Nagendra

With over 20 years of experience in analytics working for a Fortune 200 company as well as top consulting firms, Shekhar brings both technical and strategic expertise to Spinnaker Consulting Group. Shekhar leverages data and technology to develop creative and impactful business solutions for clients.

Shekhar’s technical skill set includes SQL, Python, R, Business Intelligence tools, and Data Strategy/Analytical maturity assessment expertise. In addition to these technical skills, Shekhar has extensive experience as a people/resource manager building high performing teams. He has managed large software development teams and projects with resources distributed across India, USA and Canada.

Shekhar graduated from the Indian Institute of technology, Bombay, India, where he earned his Master of Science degree in Mathematics & Computer Science. He has been a resident of Richmond, VA since 1995 with his wife Veda, and children Jayanth and Vibha. They are passionate tennis fans. They also love to travel, both abroad and throughout the US.

Philip Paige

Philip joins Spinnaker Consulting Group with a passion for customer-centric creative problem-solving, needs analysis that “gets it right” and implementing innovative solutions for his clients. He thrives in grey and white space and always seeks out new problems and challenges.

He brings 10+ years of experience in risk, process and project management at Fortune 250 financial services corporations and has a track record of overcoming obstacles and getting results by building and developing high performing teams in dynamic and fast-paced organizations. Philip has managed large scale, complex marketing initiatives, developed analytics and metrics strategies and led Operational Risk management and process improvement teams.

Philip has been a financial services leader and Product Owner for the Risk Event Management process. He has a deep knowledge of Compliance and Regulatory frameworks and he designed, piloted and led the migration of the Partnerships Risk Event Management process to an Agile framework which resulted in a 50% reduction in cycle time, increased throughput, without additional resource allocation. Most recently, Philip helped select, design and implement a Data Analytics platform which helps to measure and assess Revenue Cycle KPI’s and metrics for a large 600+ bed Health System.

Philip has a Bachelors in Business Administration and Marketing from Berry College and an MBA from Kennesaw State University, alongside certification in Lean and Six Sigma. He lives in Augusta, Georgia with his wife Larisa and their two girls. Outside of work, you’ll find him spending time with his family, fishing, traveling, and cooking. He is also a decent chess player.

Jim Peters

A management consultant with Spinnaker, Jim brings nearly 10 years of experience in operations strategy and analytics to the team. He has spent his professional career designing data-based strategies which generate solutions to problems with varying levels of complexity.

Over the past decade, Jim has acquired a diverse background of work experience, which ranges between working for a Fortune 200 company to joining a high-growth financial technology startup. This background has wide-reaching implications for Jim’s clients, as he is able to provide the versatility his clients need to accomplish their goals. Jim has also developed the ability to produce high-quality work product across a spectrum of different work assignments, which includes everything from servicing operations to risk management to portfolio analytics.

Jim excels in analyzing complex data, as well as developing strategies in situations in which there are limited facts, while delivering superior results. In addition to his analytical abilities, he has also assumed leadership positions for large projects and programs, one of which involved the integration of two large organizations spanning over 2,000 employees.

Jim earned his undergraduate degree from Penn State University, with a major in Finance and a minor in Economics. He resides in Richmond, Virginia, with his wife, Rebecca. When not supporting clients, Jim enjoys boating and sailing with his wife and spending vacation time at Groton Long Point, Connecticut, in the summer.

Teri Reibsamen

As a consultant with Spinnaker, Teri brings with her 25 years of operations experience working for a Fortune 100 Financial Services Company. Most recently, Teri spent the last 10 years managing the Recoveries Quality Assurance business which involved building a best-in-class monitoring program that resulted in a 97% average Regulatory, Policy and Customer Experience adherence rate for over 2,000 internal and external employees.

Teri’s experience is comprised of a broad spectrum of skills that have allowed her to build best in class programs from inception to fully functioning operational work units.  These program teams have serviced both internal and external customers consisting of first and third-party agencies and attorney law firms. Teri’s skills also include designing and delivering training curricula to enhance operational performance. She has been able to leverage her strong people management and relationship building abilities to foster a collaborative and efficient working environment. Her areas of expertise include Operations Process Improvement, Risk Management, Supplier Oversight, Employee Development, Capacity Planning and Performance Monitoring.

Teri is a Clemson University graduate with a degree in Business Management and a concentration in Mathematics / Statistics. A huge college and pro football fan, you can usually find Teri tailgating at either a Clemson, JMU or Dallas Cowboys football game every weekend in the fall with her better half, Mark. During the off season, Teri enjoys traveling, cooking and spending plenty of quality time with her 2 dogs and 3 cats.

Laurent Robert

A Consultant with Spinnaker Consulting Group, Laurent is an experienced business and risk leader with more than 20 years of expertise in risk management, business development, and operational excellence for Fortune 500 financial institutions in the banking, brokerage, and insurance industries. Laurent has a passion for building and fostering relationships across functions and with key stakeholders to inspire collaboration, build credibility, and deliver excellence in all initiatives.

Laurent’s experience includes leadership roles in developing the risk management framework and best practices for a Fortune 500 retail bank, managing regulatory and audit relations for the technology and digital departments of a Fortune 500 financial institution, and enabling the strategic and tactical transformation of a Fortune 500 brokerage firm’s discount and online business. Laurent brings a keen focus on developing sustainable, action-oriented and decisive practices and processes that drive greater customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and sustainable competitiveness in a well-controlled environment.

Laurent’s track record demonstrates his affinity for solving problems through common sense grounded on data analytics, a passion for innovative solutions, a drive to optimize operations, and a genuine interest in maximizing customer value while pursuing increased profitability.

A native of France, Laurent received his MBA from the University of Richmond after studying law in his native country. He lives in the Richmond area with his wife and three children.

Mark Schuler

Joining Spinnaker in 2017, Mark is an experienced problem-solver who’s spent the past 18+ years driving process and digital transformations at Fortune 500 financial services companies.

Under his direction, he’s led a top-five financial services company through the digital transformation of credit card acquisitions, reduced 80% of consumer-facing compliance and business issues, and negotiated annual direct mail supply chain savings of $50MM+ over five years.

At Spinnaker, Mark draws on this first-hand experience to work with clients who are experiencing similar challenges to the ones he’s already helped solve. This includes developing innovative solutions across operations agile transformation, risk and compliance consultation, large-scale program implementation, and analytics reporting.

Outside work, you can find Mark running and biking, serving as Vice Chair of the Advisory Board for Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia, and enjoying time with his wife, five children, and grandson.

Ed Schumacher

As a Consultant with Spinnaker Consulting Group, Ed brings 20 years of analytical experience with Fortune 100 companies. He leverages his data expertise in developing creative solutions to solve complex and ambiguous business problems.

Ed is a recognized leader with a strong reputation for analyzing data to identify and facilitate process improvements. He has led large scale data conversions and managed the delivery of new and improved reporting tools to provide business insights.

Ed is also an experienced Data Product Owner with a focus on translating business requirements to data solutions in an Agile environment. He has a proven record of success in delivering data products to improve analytical capabilities.

Ed earned his Bachelor’s degree in Communications from The Ohio State University. He resides in Glen Allen, Virginia near his 3 children and 3 grandchildren. Ed spends his free time watching youth sporting events, playing golf, and attending concerts.

Adam Searles

Adam is a Consultant with Spinnaker Consulting Group and has spent over a decade providing operational leadership and analytical solutions in the Financial Services industry. He has a passion for connecting operational leaders with analytical strategies to streamline their business and improve the experience for associates and customers.

Prior to joining Spinnaker, Adam worked at a Fortune 100 Financial Services company leading analytical and operational teams in Fraud/Disputes, Collections, and Recoveries. Adam has a track record of using a blend of analytics and operational knowledge to create data-driven insights that enable customer experience and cost improvements. In his previous roles, Adam specialized in leveraging design thinking practices to create solutions where quantitative data was limited or did not exist.

Adam has his Bachelor’s in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech and obtained his Design Thinking and Innovation Certificate from the University of Virginia. Adam lives in Chesterfield, Virginia with his wife Cheri. When he isn’t supporting clients, he can be found out by the grill, traveling or helping with his wife’s philanthropic efforts.

Kendal Sence

A Consultant with Spinnaker Consulting Group, Kendal is a dynamic and innovative compliance/risk professional with 20+ years of experience in the financial services industry.

Kendal has a track record of implementing all components of scalable and sustainable compliance management programs. She is skilled in regulatory compliance, credit bureau reporting, project management, process development/improvement, and program governance. She also has proven expertise in devising creative solutions which mitigate risk and maintain compliance in the ever-shifting regulatory landscape. Her solid leadership skills drive business goals through collaboration.

Kendal has a BS in Economics from Texas A&M University and holds professional certifications in Lean Six Sigma. She currently calls Texas home but has lived in several cities along the East Coast. Kendal has two dogs and in her spare time volunteers with animal rescues.

Todd Stavac

A Consultant who joined the Spinnaker Consulting Group team in early 2018, Todd boasts a proven 20+ years of experience in operations for a Fortune 100 Financial Services Company.

Todd has an impressive track record of leading and supporting a variety of operational groups, delivering business results in a complex and competitive environment. With extensive experience in 1st and 3rd party collections and recoveries, Todd specializes in onshore and offshore supplier launches, improving performance, driving business strategy, and ensuring regulatory compliance. He has led post charge-off pre-legal, non-legal, and specialty groups with annual recovery rates of $130MM a year. His areas of expertise include operational strategy deployment, training and quality assurance programs, customer experience improvements, regulatory compliance, performance management, and operational optimization.

Todd is a graduate of North Carolina Wesleyan College, where he received a BS in Education. He resides in Chesterfield, Virginia, with his wife Ashley and daughter Lexie. Outside of supporting clients, you can find him on the lacrosse field cheering on his daughter and enjoying the outdoors with his family and dogs.

Scott Summers

With more than 30 years in the Financial Services industry, Scott brings a depth of Operations leadership experience and a passion for process management and continuous improvement. He has proven track record of leading and developing strong teams and delivering results that enhance the customer and associate experience.

Prior to joining Spinnaker Consulting Group, Scott spent 16 years with Capital One Financial. Scott led a variety of large process improvement projects, many integrated with systems implementations. He spent seven years leading the workforce management team, creating the staff planning and scheduling for 15,000+ contact center associates. Scott led the project that implemented a new enterprise workforce management system, and designed the associated business processes, across four business units, impacting 22,000+ contact center associates and 80+ workforce management analysts.

At Spinnaker, Scott will apply his process management expertise and program leadership skills to drive process redesign, risk management governance and systems integration at all levels of the financial services industry.

Scott received a B.S. degree in Mathematics from The College of William and Mary. He lives in Richmond, Virginia with his wife Teri and two daughters. In his free time, Scott enjoys playing golf and volunteering at his church and his church’s thrift store. Scott also is the co-site leader for a local Jobs for Life non-profit program.

Stephanie Teefey

Stephanie is a Consultant with Spinnaker Consulting Group and brings with her more than 20 years of experience in IT management and consulting in the areas of finance and business applications. She prides herself on collaboration and building both strong relationships and high performing teams supporting operations and project and programs delivered with waterfall and agile methodologies.

Stephanie has spent the past 7 years with Capital One, most recently as the Director of Controller’s Technology. Her focus was on daily operations, project and program management, data remediation and the move to the Cloud. Prior to that, Stephanie spent 11 years consulting on a financial software package focused on all aspects of implementation from design to post-production support and process improvement. She is able to introduce innovative solutions and execute.

Stephanie is a graduate of James Madison University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and Virginia Commonwealth University with a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Accounting. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and traveling.

Stuart Williams

A Consultant for Spinnaker Consulting Group, Stuart brings over 25 years of leadership in treasury, payments and cash management. During his career, Stuart has been instrumental in implementing new technologies to streamline financial operations, bringing much-needed innovation along with the appropriate level of risk management and process controls.

Stuart’s experience includes domestic and global cash management for several large corporate companies, including 12 years at a Fortune 200 financial institution. Additionally, he has held a variety of key roles on numerous finance system implementations and was the primary lead overseeing the design and rollout for both an executive information system and a consumer loan platform.

Stuart is a national conference speaker and his professional certifications include Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) and Accredited ACH Professional (AAP).

A graduate of the College of Wooster in Ohio, Stuart also holds an MBA from the University of Denver as well as a Master’s Certificate in Information Technology Project Management from George Washington University. He lives in Richmond, Virginia along with his wife Megan and is active in Boy Scouts along with their four Eagle Scout sons. When he is not working, he enjoys time at the beach, the mountains or exploring historical places of interest such as Colonial Williamsburg.

Jason Xie

Jason is a Consultant with Spinnaker Consulting Group and brings a passion for leveraging data and analytics to enable clients to make informed and successful business decisions.

Prior to joining Spinnaker, Jason previously worked for the nation’s top media company where he contributed to a diverse range of initiatives. From providing political campaigns with data-driven advertising strategies to developing Machine-Learning based products that serve enterprise-wide end-users, Jason leveraged his data science background to generate value for the business.

Jason excels in providing sophisticated data solutions in complex data environments. He has expertise in data architecture, predictive analytics and data product development making him a versatile analyst able to meet clients’ various data needs. Jason is a fast learner eager to add to his considerable technical skillset, which includes SQL, Python, and Tableau.

Jason is a native of China and now resides in Washington, DC. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degrees in Statistics and Economics and Master’s Degree in Business Analytics from Wake Forest University. In his free time, he enjoys traveling and reading.


John “J.C.” Corrigan

An Advisor with Spinnaker Consulting Group, J.C. collaborates with the Spinnaker team on engagements involving contact centers, compliance, and process engineering. J.C. has well-balanced experience with Fortune 200 companies across the globe, software providers that impact customer-facing processes, and consulting for vendor management and regulatory priorities.

Specifically, J.C. has worked with speech analytics companies, customer journey analytics companies, case management providers, and back office process automation companies. He has also developed comprehensive processes and controls to run effective vendor management programs, and collaborated with large corporations and small software providers to develop the best value-add solution. J.C. has been involved with sports marketing algorithms, customer behavior metrics, and wealth management in other endeavors with companies he has owned. He was recently engaged at Citizens Bank on the digital investment implementation of its SpeciFi service, which won the 2018 Model Wealth Management Award for Best New Platform. His work included portfolio and vendor oversight during a time when fiduciary emphasis from multiple regulators was at an unprecedented level of required due diligence. He has also worked at General Electric and Capital One.

Currently for Spinnaker, J.C. discovers, designs, and delivers critical infrastructure requirements that impact operational risk and customer experience processes, while considering regulatory and technology impact.

J.C. earned a BS in Nuclear Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, has an MBA from Old Dominion University, and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™. He served for 9 years in the United States Navy as a Mission Commander on the P-3C Orion. He lives in Midlothian, Virginia, with his wife Patty, and children Nathan and Shannon. When he and his family aren’t cheering in the stands at a Penn State football game, you will likely find them hiking on the Appalachian Trail.

Micah Dalton

Micah is an Advisor at Spinnaker Consulting Group and Principal at DLG Strategic. A senior business leader who has spent more than 20 years building and leading successful teams, he has deep, proven experience delivering results in both the public sector and financial services industries. His areas of expertise include strategy, financial analysis, procurement strategy and cost management, operations analysis and management, and root cause identification.

Among Micah’s many leadership strengths are motivation, management, and development of key team roles, including operations analysts, project managers, and operations managers. He excels at business analysis, change management, strategy development, and implementation of customized solutions and relationship management.

Micah has a BS in Economics from Mary Washington College and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He holds certifications in Six Sigma, human capital change management, and data management, and was a two-time recipient of the Capital One Circle of Excellence Award. A lifetime Richmonder, Micah serves on the Board of Directors for Sabot at Stony Point and volunteers with Leadership Metro Richmond, where he was a member of the 2014 class.

Victoria Dlugosz

Victoria is an Advisor with Spinnaker Consulting Group and brings more than 12 years of experience spanning financial services, telecommunications, startup and non-profit. She is passionate about employee engagement, strategy, and improving processes to drive operational efficiencies. A key strength of Victoria’s is being able to assess the current state, collaborate cross-functionally to determine gaps and/or pain points, design and implement the agreed upon future state, manage through the change, and then transition the new process to be managed as ‘business as usual.’

Her experience includes developing and delivering training, managing call centers, strategic program and project management, and communications. Victoria is both analytical and creative; she enjoys developing data-driven solutions and developing visual content.

Victoria has a BS in Business Administration from Messiah College. She recently relocated to Richmond, VA where she lives with her husband and their two rescue dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys biking, organizing, and spending time with her family.

Brian Opsahl

Brian is an Advisor at Spinnaker Consulting Group. Brian focuses on applying analytics to solve consumer lending and risk management issues.

Brian is a senior business leader with over 20 years of consumer lending experience in building and leading analytical teams and partnering across the enterprise to solve problems and implement solutions. His areas of expertise include credit risk management and oversight, risk-return analytics, pricing, portfolio monitoring, underwriting, servicing, collections and regulatory relations.

Prior to joining Spinnaker, Brian spent 11 years at SunTrust in 1st and 2nd line defense consumer lending risk management roles. Brian led analytical risk management teams to drive policy change, monitor portfolio, resolve issues, and manage regulatory exams across a broad set of products including HELOC, indirect auto, installment lending, FinTech partnerships, student lending, small business, and credit card. Before SunTrust, Brian was at Capital One in the U.S. and United Kingdom for 6 years, with a focus on credit and operational risk. Early in his career, Brian was a consultant and research analyst for Fidelity Investment, all with a focus on financial services companies.

Brian received a BA in Economics from Yale University and a MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Brian lives in Atlanta, GA with his wife Liz and three daughters. In his free time, Brian enjoys biking and golfing as well as traveling with his family.

Mike Stevens

Mike Stevens

Mike has over 20 years of professional experience spanning start-ups to Fortune 100 Companies in a number of industries including Aviation, Financial Services and Medical Servicing. Known for his ability to solve complex problems and deliver superior results, he has held senior roles in Operations and Marketing, leading functions and businesses through periods of transformational change and growth.

As a graduate of Georgetown’s Leadership Coaching Program, Mike has been coaching senior leaders for the past 10 years.

Mike grew up in the UK and holds both a Masters and Bachelor degree in Operations Research from the Universities of Warwick and Lancaster respectively. He now lives in Richmond with his wife and three children.

Hanna Turner

Hanna is an Advisor with Spinnaker Consulting Group. She is a motivated, customer-focused leader with a reputation for solving problems with innovative solutions and a passionate people leader.

During her 18 years in the financial services industry with a Fortune 100 company, Hanna has led projects and teams in business and operational analytics in Fraud and Collections/Recoveries, customer insight and experience analytics and process redesign, complaints management, and process redesign and optimization across several business areas including the IVR. Many of her projects and teams operated in an Agile fashion and she has fulfilled various roles in that environment. Most recently she has been consulting for several local companies helping them design reporting, identify key metrics, and leverage data to build and accomplish their strategic vision.

Hanna has her Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, her Master’s in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Virginia, and her MBA from the College of William and Mary. She also has her Six Sigma Green Belt, Lean Certification, is a certified Product Owner and Scrum Master, and has a Design Thinking and Innovation Certificate from the University of Virginia.

Hanna lives in Glen Allen, Virginia with her husband and two daughters. She is active in the local community as the PTA auction chair, an advanced math instructor, and Girl Scout Troop Leader. In her spare time, she loves baking, home improvement projects, and spending time with her family.


Tristan Andrews
Operations Assistant

Tristan joins Spinnaker Consulting Group as the Operations Assistant, providing reliable administrative assistance to the firm. Prior to joining Spinnaker, Tristan worked with Markel Corporation, as the Underwriting Support Specialist for regional property and casualty insurance. Her experience in commercial insurance has fostered quality research skills and a strong work ethic.

Tristan graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a double major in Political Science and Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness. She continues her passion for politics and global affairs through her endearment for historical dramas and podcasts. In her free time Tristan, enjoys cooking and entertaining for friends and family.

Megan Murray
Project Manager

Megan joins Spinnaker Consulting Group as Project Manager and brings with her years of experience as Program Director for a young and growing non-profit organization, UnBoundRVA. While at UnBound she dedicated her time helping to design, build and grow a program for low-income entrepreneurs as they prepare for their journey to business ownership.

Coming from a small team, Megan understands what it takes for a business to grow and how to thrive in an ever-changing environment. She is an analytical thinker, team player and brings with her a compassionate heart which allows her to be objective yet understanding.

Megan graduated from the University of Richmond with a double major in Leadership Studies and Business Administration with a concentration in Management. Megan is originally from Ohio but prides herself in being an honorary Richmonder due to her passion and knowledge for the city. From the foodie and brewery scene to local business and community happenings, she loves to spend her time taking advantage of everything this river city has to offer!

Brooke Pray, CPA

Brooke is the Controller at Spinnaker Consulting Group. She focuses on ensuring the business operates efficiently while managing accounting and internal controls.

Brooke is a trained accountant with over 17 years of business management experience in highly regulated industries. Her areas of expertise include general accounting, risk management, close, consolidations, and financial and management reporting.

Prior to joining Spinnaker, Brooke was at Capital One in a number of accounting roles. Her most recent responsibilities focused on analyzing data and trends to leverage insights from financial results in order to inform business decisions. She also consulted with business partners throughout the company to analyze specific accounts, ensuring adherence to GAAP and company policy. Before Capital One, Brooke worked in financial reporting at Markel Corporation. Early in her career, Brooke was an auditor for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

Brooke earned a BSBA with a major in accounting from the University of Richmond and is a Certified Public Accountant. She resides in Richmond, Virginia with her husband, their two spunky daughters, and two spoiled dogs. When not toting her daughters to their various events, Brooke enjoys spending time outside with her family, either hiking or relaxing, catching up with friends, and volunteering at her church.

Hayley Sykes
Talent Acquisition Consultant

Hayley is a Talent Acquisition Consultant here at Spinnaker. She works closely with senior leadership to design, implement and fine tune our talent acquisition and hiring strategies in order to meet aggressive growth goals.

Providing a high level of customer service is crucial to our success in being able to hire the best and brightest talent into the Spinnaker family.  Because of that, Hayley plays a hands-on role as the primary recruiter acting as brand ambassador, coach and mentor to our candidates in order to ensure they receive an exemplary candidate experience.

Hayley has extensive experience in the arena of talent acquisition, talent management and recruitment operations having worked for a variety of organizations in the UK and US spanning Financial Services, Consulting, Life Sciences, Non-Profit Think Tanks and Design and Manufacturing.

When she isn’t focused on Talent Acquisition, Hayley manages a contemporary art gallery in Washington, VA, representing 15 National and Regional Artists working in a variety of media. She is also partial to chocolate cake, wine tasting, countryside walks with her dogs and travel with her husband.

Paige Wolk
Director of Operations

Paige is Director of Operations for Spinnaker Consulting Group. Throughout her career, she has been guided by her personal motto: “Do what you do well, to empower others to do what they do well.” She leverages her extensive background in finance, operations, human resources, and contract management to create a solid, process-focused foundation for the firm.

Her deep career experience with Fortune 100 companies and small, family-owned businesses provides her with the unique skill set to strategically position the behind-the-scenes building blocks to support the firm’s continued success. Paige is adept at differentiating and responding to the demands of multiple priorities, and has a proven track record managing the challenges of a growing firm.

Paige is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and a proud mother of three. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching VCU Rams basketball, volunteering with her son’s basketball and lacrosse teams, and sharing in the successes of her two grown children — one is a firefighter and the other serves in the United States Navy. With a heart and desire for servant leadership, Paige has successfully managed multiple projects for both local and international adoption and foster care ministries, including Effective Ministries, Inc. and Restoration Village, both in Niger, Africa, and Virginia-based Change Who Waits.
