Each member of our team has over 10 years in top organizations and strives to solve problems with a combination of current information, past performance and future goals.

Shawn Sweeney
Managing Partner

Shawn is the founder and managing partner of Spinnaker Consulting Group. Shawn launched Spinnaker when he saw first-hand the need for providing clients with experience-based resources who could roll up their sleeves and deliver tangible, lasting results.

In his 14 years as an executive with a Fortune 200 financial services company, Shawn led a variety of organizations, including Strategy and Analysis, Operations, and IT. He was often called on to spearhead turn-around situations or develop and build new organizations. Today, he leverages these experiences to help his clients meet the changing demands from customers, regulators and competitors. Shawn’s expertise and leadership have been leveraged at companies including American Express and Capital One.

Shawn is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and served our country as a submarine officer before entering the corporate world. He resides in Richmond, Virginia with his wife Lauren and his son Stephen. When he’s not supporting his clients, you can find Shawn and his family sailing on the Chesapeake Bay or traveling to somewhere fun.

Chris Landrum
Principal

Chris is a Principal with Spinnaker Consulting Group. His focus areas include business strategy, operational & process improvement, change management, and large project implementation.

In his 13 years as an executive with Capital One Financial, Chris led a variety of teams including operations, IT, and business strategy across the company’s Credit Card and Retail Banking Divisions. Having worked in all traditional areas of a corporation, Chris is adept at identifying root cause and working across teams to formulate a path forward, drive corporate-wide buy-in and deliver against commitments.

Prior to Capital One, Chris was an Armor Officer in the US Army. His last role was the lead planner of a five-thousand-person Brigade Combat Team. He also is a proud graduate of the US Army’s Ranger School after spending more than his fair share of time there.

Chris has an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Richmond. He lives in Richmond, Virginia with his wife Sarah and two children. Chris has a passion for real estate and spends his free time growing his real-estate investment (REI) company.

Brett Ludden
Principal

Brett is a Principal with Spinnaker Consulting Group. He focuses on helping clients leverage analytics to enable better business decisions.

During his 21 years in the financial services industry, Brett has worked across the spectrum: leading teams at one of the largest banks in the United States and playing a critical leadership role in a start-up organization.

At Capital One, Brett led analytics teams that focused on credit card fraud prevention, mortgage fraud identification and reporting, marketing strategy, credit policy, business development, and credit risk management.

As the first employee of Live Well Financial, Brett was a jack of all trades, leading marketing strategy, IT, operations, recruiting, sales, processing, underwriting, and the company’s inaugural recycling program. Live Well Financial is now a leader in reverse mortgage lending and securitizations.

Brett has an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia where he studied Mechanical Engineering. He lives in Hume, Virginia with his wife Hayley and their two spoiled dogs. When Brett isn’t busy solving business problems, he and his wife love to travel.

Belinda Allen
Risk Compliance Consultant

Belinda is a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager and Risk Compliance Consultant with Spinnaker Consulting Group. With more than 20 years of experience in financial services, Belinda brings to Spinnaker a depth of knowledge across risk management, compliance, banking, home loans, auto, operations, and program and project management. She has a track record of driving process efficiencies, increasing employee engagement, and developing successful programs to manage and mitigate risk.

Prior to joining Spinnaker, Belinda worked for Fortune 100 financial service companies, leading business risk teams, top risks, service level quality programs, and project and program implementations. In addition, she developed and led a compliance program, new system implementation, and the training and management of business risk teams at a $15B company.

Belinda has developed her expertise and leadership by regularly being asked to lead process improvements and regulatory matters requiring attention, as well as develop and build new programs. Today she leverages these experiences to help her clients meet the changing demands of the industry. Belinda’s expertise and leadership have been leveraged at companies including USAA and Capital One.

Belinda is a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager. She has attended the University of Southern Indiana, University of Evansville, Kirchman Regulatory, Institute of Certified Bankers, and American Institute of Banking. She resides in Texas with her partner Dan and their fur babies. When she’s not supporting her clients, Belinda is looking for new places to explore. Belinda and Dan enjoy traveling on their Harleys, by air as she pursues her pilot’s license, and on foot as an avid runner. The recipient of multiple recognitions for her philanthropy, Belinda enjoys spending time as a YWCA youth mentor, Habitat for Humanity volunteer, and Humane Society Board Member and volunteer.

Dana Ray Bennett
Consultant

Dana is a Consultant with Spinnaker Consulting Group who brings to the team more than 10 years in the mortgage industry, specializing in mortgage servicing, compliance, and financial services. She has a proven record in project management and people leadership with a reputation for building interdepartmental relationships and forming quality, competent teams. She is accustomed to high-pressure environments and processing confidential materials. Dana has several years of experience working with government regulators and creating compliance programs. She possesses impeccable technical and creative writing abilities, specializing in editing and job function/training manuals. Dana is known to take an industrious and innovative approach to mitigating risk, project development/management, team building, and compliance.

With a passion for quality assurance and compliance, Dana has built top-notch quality and compliance teams credited with reducing government fines and sanctions, improving overall productivity, and implementing multi-line risk controls. She is a strong leader with experience leading large teams both stateside and overseas. Her experience working with regulators and legal counsel, along with her working knowledge of operations, makes her a team player who can easily pivot between multiple tasks and roles both within the business and compliance oversight.

As a compliance professional, Dana has won the coveted Mark of Distinction Award for her work in expanding the origination footprint during her tenure at a former Fortune 500 company. She is a graduate of the Magellan Leadership Program that highlights and invests in top performing talent, and two years in a row was selected to attend the Executive Leadership Council’s Mid-Level Managers Symposium. A consummate learner, Dana has studied abroad as an exchange student in Puebla, Mexico, and served as a paper editor while completing her studies. Dana will sit for her Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager exam at the end of 2018.

Dana began her college career at Texas Lutheran University and earned a BS in Psychology with a minor in English from University of Phoenix. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Managerial Science. She also holds a Real Estate Broker’s license in the state of Texas. Dana comes from a military family but calls Texas her home, where she is happily married and the proud parent of five children. Being of service to others is a big part of her family life, and she is active in her local church where she serves on the board and teaches classes. She also hosts financial and business seminars for women, and provides one-on-one coaching. Dana loves to travel, read, and write.

John “J.C.” Corrigan
Senior Consultant

A Senior Consultant with Spinnaker Consulting Group, J.C. collaborates with the Spinnaker team on engagements involving contact centers, compliance, and process engineering. J.C. has well-balanced experience with Fortune 200 companies across the globe, software providers that impact customer-facing processes, and consulting for vendor management and regulatory priorities.

Specifically, J.C. has worked with speech analytics companies, customer journey analytics companies, case management providers, and back office process automation companies. He has also developed comprehensive processes and controls to run effective vendor management programs, and collaborated with large corporations and small software providers to develop the best value-add solution. J.C. has been involved with sports marketing algorithms, customer behavior metrics, and wealth management in other endeavors with companies he has owned. He was recently engaged at Citizens Bank on the digital investment implementation of its SpeciFi service, which won the 2018 Model Wealth Management Award for Best New Platform. His work included portfolio and vendor oversight during a time when fiduciary emphasis from multiple regulators was at an unprecedented level of required due diligence. He has also worked at General Electric and Capital One.

Currently for Spinnaker, J.C. discovers, designs, and delivers critical infrastructure requirements that impact operational risk and customer experience processes, while considering regulatory and technology impact.

J.C. earned a BS in Nuclear Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, has an MBA from Old Dominion University, and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™. He served for 9 years in the United States Navy as a Mission Commander on the P-3C Orion. He lives in Midlothian, Virginia, with his wife Patty, and children Nathan and Shannon. When he and his family aren’t cheering in the stands at a Penn State football game, you will likely find them hiking on the Appalachian Trail.

Micah Dalton
Advisor

Micah is an Advisor at Spinnaker Consulting Group and Principal at Dalton Group Consulting. A senior business leader who has spent more than 20 years building and leading successful teams, he has deep, proven experience delivering results in both the public sector and financial services industries. His areas of expertise include strategy, financial analysis, procurement strategy and cost management, operations analysis and management, and root cause identification.

Among Micah’s many leadership strengths are motivation, management, and development of key team roles, including operations analysts, project managers, and operations managers. He excels at business analysis, change management, strategy development, and implementation of customized solutions and relationship management.

Micah has a BS in Economics from Mary Washington College and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He holds certifications in Six Sigma, human capital change management, and data management, and< was a two-time recipient of the Capital One Circle of Excellence Award. A lifetime Richmonder, Micah serves on the Board of Directors for Sabot at Stony Point and volunteers with Leadership Metro Richmond, where he was a member of the 2014 class.

Christine Dodson
Consultant

Christine is a Consultant with Spinnaker Consulting Group and brings with her more than 12 years of experience in financial services from Capital One. Her background and focus throughout her career has been in risk management, mortgage originations, auto, and compliance and process improvement in banking.

She has a passion for process improvement which has led her to both lead and implement multiple regulatory control and testing build out projects for Capital One. Christine has completed several process improvement courses and holds her BPM certification. To better serve her clients and team she is working towards her Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager certification.

Christine has a passion for helping others feel good about themselves which led her to recently get her personal training certification. She lives in Little Elm, Texas and loves traveling with her family, boating, watching sports, and just about anything involving the outdoors.

Greg Gilliam
Consultant

Greg is a Consultant with Spinnaker Consulting Group. He takes a pragmatic approach to solving complex business problems by identifying the root cause and developing simple, repeatable processes.

Greg has more than 16 years of experience at Capital One Financial, developing a deep understanding of credit card operations, regulation, customer experience, and complaint management. He has a passion for leading business owners to develop solutions that exceed business, regulatory, and customer expectations, while protecting the organization.

At Spinnaker, Greg deep-dives into all relevant details to thoroughly understand the issues and desired outcomes. He is experienced in consulting with stakeholders at every level to ensure their objectives are met in implementing solutions.

Greg attended Virginia Commonwealth University and Georgetown University professional development programs. Outside of work, he leads multiple improvement projects for his homeowner’s association and has held roles on the Board of Directors. He enjoys visiting boutique hotels and dining out with his partner, Richard.

Jack Gooding
Consultant

With over 11 years of experience in analytics for a Fortune 200 company, Jack brings both technical and strategic expertise to Spinnaker Consulting Group. Jack leverages data and technology to develop creative and impactful business solutions.

Jack is an accomplished data analytics leader. He has developed talent supporting all aspects of Operations and effectively built offshore teams to support critical business processes. Prior to joining Spinnaker, Jack managed data workstreams for several massive integration programs supporting tens-of-thousands of end users.

Jack’s significant analytical skill set includes SQL, Python, Business Intelligence tools, and data management expertise. He has served as Product Owner for data products and has experience operating in Agile. In addition to these technical skills, Jack has a passion for collaboration and fostering an environment for team success.

Originally from New Orleans, Jack graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, where he earned degrees in Mathematics and Economics. He now resides in Richmond, VA with his wife, Niki. Together, they enjoy all that Richmond has to offer, including its history, culture, and dining. They love to travel, both abroad and throughout the US.

Scott Hamilton
Consultant

With nearly 30 years of experience leading enterprise-wide improvement efforts in the financial services industry, Scott brings extensive knowledge and expertise to the Spinnaker team. He is an inclusive, solutions-focused, battle-tested leader with a passion for solving the most complicated of challenges.

Scott brings to Spinnaker an extensive background in sales, fulfillment, and operations, and their underlying technology platforms. He spent the first half of his career with GE Capital launching start-ups, integrating acquisitions, and running a variety of key businesses. More recently, he leveraged the breadth of his experience to lead a series of strategically important redesign efforts in the home equity and deposit businesses, delivering step-change improvements in speed, cost, satisfaction, and compliance.

Scott’s current focus is on guiding large financial institutions through the complexities of process redesign efforts. He excels at value chain optimization, regulatory event remediation, and acquisition due diligence and integration, and has the unique ability to lead diverse teams through complex people, process, technology, and policy improvement efforts.

He received a B.B.A. from Emory University and is a certified Six Sigma Master Blackbelt. He is FINRA Series 7 and 63 registered. Scott has had the opportunity to live, work, and travel in much of the world — with his two sons, now mostly grown, in tow.

Craig Hannon
Consultant

A Management Consultant with Spinnaker Consulting Group, Craig brings to the team more than 15 years of experience focusing on operations strategy and analytics.

Craig is an experienced business leader, working in Fortune 500 companies in areas ranging from wires operations to contact center strategy. He has an affinity for taking on the biggest challenges facing clients and delivering superior results. Craig excels in process and departmental transformation, highly analytical roles, and strategic planning in challenging environments. He is adept at analyzing complex data and structuring the findings into actionable plans.

Craig earned his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University and his MBA from Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis. He resides in Richmond, Virginia, with his wife Heather, and their four children. He enjoys youth coaching and cheering on his children’s many sports teams.

Robert H. Johnson, Jr.
Consultant

A Consultant with Spinnaker Consulting Group, Robert brings over two decades of experience in the Retail and Financial Services industry. His experience spans multiple facets of consumer banking including: Retail Banking, Home Equity, Mortgage Operations and Originations.

Before joining the Spinnaker team, Robert held leadership roles with Capital One and Bank of America. His many successes include leading organizations to record-setting quality and sales performance, as well as developing and implementing impactful customer relationship programs.

Robert is a proven leader with a passion and focus on developing and inspiring people to be and achieve their best. In his career and life, he consistently demonstrates his commitment to leadership and development by coaching, mentoring and sponsoring others.

A native Floridian, Robert is a graduate of Florida Memorial University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He also earned a Certificate in Leadership from Southern Methodist University in 2018.

Jeff Marshall
Director

With more than 22 years in Financial Services, Jeff brings to Spinnaker a depth of knowledge across Risk Management and Operations. Specifically, he has a track record of turning ambiguous business problems into tangible results.

Prior to joining Spinnaker, Jeff worked for Fortune 500 Financial Service companies, running large Bank Operations teams, Auto Finance Operations teams, a $250MM Portfolio Management Office, and working in Risk Management at a company that grew from $1.5B in assets to $12B+ in five years.

At Spinnaker, Jeff applies his first-hand financial services knowledge to the Risk Management process, executing Risk Compliance Self Assessments that help businesses manage their day-to-day functions in a fully compliant manner, while also increasing their overall efficiency and effectiveness.

Jeff has his undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond and his Professional Master of Banking Certification from Louisiana State University. When he’s not shuttling his four children to various soccer and swimming activities, he spends a significant amount of time volunteering for Hope Church in Richmond.

Kenny Martin
Consultant

Kenny is an operations and risk management professional with more than 20 years of experience in Financial Services, with a majority of that time with a Fortune 100 company. He is a collaborative leader, having demonstrated success across varied aspects of operations.

Kenny’s experience spans many areas of business risk management, including risk and issue resolution, program and project management, system implementation, and acquisition integration. He has first-hand experience leading efforts to address formal Memorandums of Understanding, designing and implementing enterprise-wise operational risk assessment methodologies, and managing the day-to-day operations of the Business Risk Office.

Kenny is a licensed CPA in the Commonwealth of Virginia, where he started his career with Coopers & Lybrand providing tax, audit, and advisory services across diverse industries.

Kenny holds a Master’s Degree in Accounting from West Virginia University and graduated summa cum laude from the School of Business at Fairmont State University, where he has served on the FSU School of Business Advisory Committee since 2011. When not engaged in professional endeavors, Kenny can be found enjoying his hobby as a musician and singer/songwriter or hanging out with his son engaged in scouting activities.

Scott Mainwaring
Director

A Director at Spinnaker Consulting Group, Scott brings extensive experience leading operations with a high level of complexity and scale. Scott has a wide range of corporate experience, from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies, over the past two decades, serving as Vice President/Director at five Fortune 500 companies spanning the healthcare, financial services, insurance, and retail industries. He has led teams from as few as a handful of employees to an organization as large as 9,000, leading operations, service delivery, risk management, program management, transformation, client relations, and sales and service.

Scott has a proven track record of achievement, building performance-based cultures, setting strategic direction, and leading large multi-site domestic and international teams, driving business growth as well as significant customer experience improvements. He is a results-driven professional with a high focus on metrics and a collaborative team philosophy centered on engagement, performance, and accountability.

An experienced leader, Scott has deep knowledge in global operations, including outsourcing, in Asia and Central America, and utilizes his strong background in P&L management, Six Sigma as a certified Green Belt, project management, and analytics to support and deliver strong results.

In his free time, Scott plays competitive tennis, travels with his family, and has been enjoying (most of the time!) renovating his 100-year-old Revival house in Richmond, Virginia’s historic Fan district. He is an active volunteer at Sportable, an organization that transforms the lives of people with visual and physical disabilities through sport.

Doug Murphy
Director

Doug is a Senior Consultant with Spinnaker Consulting Group. Recently joining Spinnaker, he has previously collaborated with Shawn on multiple consulting engagements and in house financial services programs.

Experienced and proven business professional for 15 years with a Fortune 200 company, Doug is adept at solving the biggest and most complex challenges across operations and corporate groups of large organizations. He facilitates and creates implementation strategies that are transferable and sustainable providing long-term value to his clients. Currently, Doug leverages these experiences to consult with clients to innovate their business or solve their highest priority issues. He has a diverse set of skills spanning analytics, team leadership, technology, regulatory compliance, program management, and process management. Doug’s experience and skill set have been leveraged at companies including Capital One.

Doug is a graduate of both the United States Naval Academy and Naval Postgraduate School. He served our country as a submarine officer for 12 years before entering the corporate world where he continued his service in the Navy Reserves until retiring in 2008. He resides in Richmond, Virginia with his wife Helen and his sons Sean and Aiden. When he is not supporting his clients, Doug and his family enjoy traveling just about anywhere.

Jeff Nelson
Consultant

A Consultant with Spinnaker Consulting Group, Jeff is an experienced leader with nearly 20 years of expertise in operations management, risk and compliance management, 3rd party management, and delivery excellence for Fortune 500 financial institutions. A thoughtful, collaborative and people-centric leader, Jeff’s diverse background enables him to drive results across businesses, at all levels of organizations and between stakeholders with different and often competing priorities.

Jeff’s experience includes leading small teams to develop and launch new products to directing large, international teams executing industry-leading operational processes that support over 30M customers. A nimble communicator, Jeff has been part of dozens of successful regulatory exams and audits as operational lead, interacting directly with examiners, driving deliverable delivery and achieving optimal results.

Jeff balances a focus on process efficiency and results delivery with flexibility, creativity, and curiosity about what’s at the core of complex business challenges.  He has a keen understanding of the complex relationships between strategy, marketing, operations, IT, and 3rd parties and is comfortable using that knowledge to bridge communications and enable mutually beneficial solutions across businesses.

A native of the Boston area, Jeff received his undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond and lives in the Richmond area with his wife and two children.

Jim Peters
Consultant

A management consultant with Spinnaker, Jim brings nearly 10 years of experience in operations strategy and analytics to the team. He has spent his professional career designing data-based strategies which generate solutions to problems with varying levels of complexity.

Over the past decade, Jim has acquired a diverse background of work experience, which ranges between working for a Fortune 200 company to joining a high-growth financial technology startup. This background has wide-reaching implications for Jim’s clients, as he is able to provide the versatility his clients need to accomplish their goals. Jim has also developed the ability to produce high-quality work product across a spectrum of different work assignments, which includes everything from servicing operations to risk management to portfolio analytics.

Jim excels in analyzing complex data, as well as developing strategies in situations in which there are limited facts, while delivering superior results. In addition to his analytical abilities, he has also assumed leadership positions for large projects and programs, one of which involved the integration of two large organizations spanning over 2,000 employees.

Jim earned his undergraduate degree from Penn State University, with a major in Finance and a minor in Economics. He resides in Richmond, Virginia, with his wife, Rebecca. When not supporting clients, Jim enjoys boating and sailing with his wife and spending vacation time at Groton Long Point, Connecticut, in the summer.

Teri Reibsamen
Consultant

A consultant that recently joined Spinnaker, Teri brings with her 25 years of operations experience working for a Fortune 100 Financial Services Company. Most recently, Teri spent the last 10 years managing the Recoveries Quality Assurance business which involved building a best-in-class monitoring program that resulted in a 97% average Regulatory, Policy and Customer Experience adherence rate for over 2,000 internal and external employees. 

Teri’s experience is comprised of a broad spectrum of skills that have allowed her to build best in class programs from inception to fully functioning operational work units.  These program teams have serviced both internal and external customers consisting of first and third-party agencies and attorney law firms. Teri’s skills also include designing and delivering training curricula to enhance operational performance. She has been able to leverage her strong people management and relationship building abilities to foster a collaborative and efficient working environment. Her areas of expertise include Operations Process Improvement, Risk Management, Supplier Oversight, Employee Development, Capacity Planning and Performance Monitoring.

Teri is a Clemson University graduate with a degree in Business Management and a concentration in Mathematics / Statistics. A huge college and pro football fan, you can usually find Teri tailgating at either a Clemson, JMU or Dallas Cowboys football game every weekend in the fall with her better half, Mark. During the off season, Teri enjoys traveling, cooking and spending plenty of quality time with her 2 dogs and 3 cats.

Laurent Robert
Consultant

A Consultant with Spinnaker Consulting Group, Laurent is an experienced business and risk leader with more than 20 years of expertise in risk management, business development, and operational excellence for Fortune 500 financial institutions in the banking, brokerage, and insurance industries. Laurent has a passion for building and fostering relationships across functions and with key stakeholders to inspire collaboration, build credibility, and deliver excellence in all initiatives.

Laurent’s experience includes leadership roles in developing the risk management framework and best practices for a Fortune 500 retail bank, managing regulatory and audit relations for the technology and digital departments of a Fortune 500 financial institution, and enabling the strategic and tactical transformation of a Fortune 500 brokerage firm’s discount and online business. Laurent brings a keen focus on developing sustainable, action-oriented and decisive practices and processes that drive greater customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and sustainable competitiveness in a well-controlled environment.

Laurent’s track record demonstrates his affinity for solving problems through common sense grounded on data analytics, a passion for innovative solutions, a drive to optimize operations, and a genuine interest in maximizing customer value while pursuing increased profitability.

A native of France, Laurent received his MBA from the University of Richmond after studying law in his native country. He lives in the Richmond area with his wife and three children.

Kristina Schneider
Senior Manager

Kristina is a Senior Manager with Spinnaker Consulting Group. Deeply analytical, she has an outstanding track record of providing strategic insights and considering first- and second-order implications during the solving of complex business problems. Kristina integrates technical expertise with business understanding, and big-picture thinking with detail orientation. She champions continuous improvement, when she sees the opportunity.

Her 15+ years of experience include working for a Fortune 200 company in the U.S. and consulting in Europe. Her main areas of expertise are the development and execution of strategies for reporting or data management. As a versatile analyst, she has also influenced strategic investment decisions with capacity planning and daily process execution with business system analytics. Kristina has extensive experience in portfolio analytics, operations, and risk management, having built and led analyst teams supporting these functions. She has worked in, or supported clients from, various industries, including finance, real estate, and marketing.

Kristina grew up in Germany, and currently lives in the Northeast. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Property Development from Sheffield Hallam University in the United Kingdom, and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire. In her free time, she enjoys writing as well as traveling and hiking in the continental U.S. and Europe.

Mark Schuler
Director

Joining Spinnaker in 2017, Mark is an experienced problem-solver who’s spent the past 18+ years driving process and digital transformations at Fortune 500 financial services companies.

Under his direction, he’s led a top-five financial services company through the digital transformation of credit card acquisitions, reduced 80% of consumer-facing compliance and business issues, and negotiated annual direct mail supply chain savings of $50MM+ over five years.

At Spinnaker, Mark draws on this first-hand experience to work with clients who are experiencing similar challenges to the ones he’s already helped solve. This includes developing innovative solutions across operations agile transformation, risk and compliance consultation, large-scale program implementation, and analytics reporting.

Outside work, you can find Mark running and biking, serving as Vice Chair of the Advisory Board for Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia, and enjoying time with his wife, five children, and grandson.

Kendal Sence
Consultant

A Consultant with Spinnaker Consulting Group, Kendal is a dynamic and innovative compliance/risk professional with 20+ years of experience in the financial services industry.

Kendal has a track record of implementing all components of scalable and sustainable compliance management programs. She is skilled in regulatory compliance, credit bureau reporting, project management, process development/improvement, and program governance. She also has proven expertise in devising creative solutions which mitigate risk and maintain compliance in the ever-shifting regulatory landscape. Her solid leadership skills drive business goals through collaboration.

Kendal has a BS in Economics from Texas A&M University and holds professional certifications in Lean Six Sigma. She currently calls Texas home but has lived in several cities along the East Coast. Kendal has two dogs and in her spare time volunteers with animal rescues.

Daniel Shao
Consultant

Daniel is a Data Analytics Consultant at Spinnaker and he is a firm believer that data empowers better business decision-making. With a passion in data analytics, Daniel has a proven track record of being a go-to person for data related questions. He is super excited to develop analytics solutions with his clients and help businesses to grow.

Before joining Spinnaker, Daniel held several analytics roles with Capital One and Uber Technology Inc. Over the past 5 years, he has gained extensive hands-on experience in database management, performance analytics and web analytics.

As a former data product owner, Daniel understands the complexity of big data and the importance to make a proper data ETL, analysis and visualization for decision making. As a results-driven person, he is always customer focused and incorporates users’ in his work deliverables. Daniel excels at designing and analyzing A/B experiments to validate business hypotheses and uncover growth opportunities with business.

Daniel graduated from the Ohio State University and obtained his Masters of Information Systems Management degree from Carnegie Mellon University. While he doesn’t actively practice accounting, Daniel holds a Certified Public Accounting license (CPA) and an Enrolled Agent license (EA). Outside of work, he enjoys time with his family, travel, and gastronomy.

Todd Stavac
Consultant

A Consultant who joined the Spinnaker Consulting Group team in early 2018, Todd boasts a proven 20+ years of experience in operations for a Fortune 100 Financial Services Company.

Todd has an impressive track record of leading and supporting a variety of operational groups, delivering business results in a complex and competitive environment. With extensive experience in 1st and 3rd party collections and recoveries, Todd specializes in onshore and offshore supplier launches, improving performance, driving business strategy, and ensuring regulatory compliance. He has led post charge-off pre-legal, non-legal, and specialty groups with annual recovery rates of $130MM a year. His areas of expertise include operational strategy deployment, training and quality assurance programs, customer experience improvements, regulatory compliance, performance management, and operational optimization.

Todd is a graduate of North Carolina Wesleyan College, where he received a BS in Education. He resides in Chesterfield, Virginia, with his wife Ashley and daughter Lexie. Outside of supporting clients, you can find him on the lacrosse field cheering on his daughter and enjoying the outdoors with his family and dogs.

Mike Stevens

Mike has over 20 years of professional experience spanning start-ups to Fortune 100 Companies in a number of industries including Aviation, Financial Services and Medical Servicing. Known for his ability to solve complex problems and deliver superior results, he has held senior roles in Operations and Marketing, leading functions and businesses through periods of transformational change and growth.

As a graduate of Georgetown’s Leadership Coaching Program, Mike has been coaching senior leaders for the past 10 years.

Mike grew up in the UK and holds both a Masters and Bachelor degree in Operations Research from the Universities of Warwick and Lancaster respectively. He now lives in Richmond with his wife and three children.

Hanna Turner
Consultant

Hanna is a Consultant with Spinnaker Consulting Group. She is a motivated, customer-focused leader with a reputation for solving problems with innovative solutions and a passionate people leader.

During her 18 years in the financial services industry with a Fortune 100 company, Hanna has led projects and teams in business and operational analytics in Fraud and Collections/Recoveries, customer insight and experience analytics and process redesign, complaints management, and process redesign and optimization across several business areas including the IVR. Many of her projects and teams operated in an Agile fashion and she has fulfilled various roles in that environment. Most recently she has been consulting for several local companies helping them design reporting, identify key metrics, and leverage data to build and accomplish their strategic vision.

Hanna has her Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, her Master’s in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Virginia, and her MBA from the College of William and Mary. She also has her Six Sigma Green Belt, Lean Certification, is a certified Product Owner and Scrum Master, and has a Design Thinking and Innovation Certificate from the University of Virginia.

Hanna lives in Glen Allen, Virginia with her husband and two daughters. She is active in the local community as the PTA auction chair, an advanced math instructor, and Girl Scout Troop Leader. In her spare time, she loves baking, home improvement projects, and spending time with her family.

Stuart Williams
Consultant

A Consultant for Spinnaker Consulting Group, Stuart brings over 25 years of leadership in treasury, payments and cash management. During his career, Stuart has been instrumental in implementing new technologies to streamline financial operations, bringing much-needed innovation along with the appropriate level of risk management and process controls.

Stuart’s experience includes domestic and global cash management for several large corporate companies, including 12 years at a Fortune 200 financial institution. Additionally, he has held a variety of key roles on numerous finance system implementations and was the primary lead overseeing the design and rollout for both an executive information system and a consumer loan platform.

Stuart is a national conference speaker and his professional certifications include Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) and Accredited ACH Professional (AAP).

A graduate of the College of Wooster in Ohio, Stuart also holds an MBA from the University of Denver as well as a Master’s Certificate in Information Technology Project Management from George Washington University. He lives in Richmond, Virginia along with his wife Megan and is active in Boy Scouts along with their four Eagle Scout sons. When he is not working, he enjoys time at the beach, the mountains or exploring historical places of interest such as Colonial Williamsburg.

Megan Murray
Project Manager

Megan joins Spinnaker Consulting Group as Project Manager and brings with her years of experience as Program Director for a young and growing non-profit organization, UnBoundRVA. While at UnBound she dedicated her time helping to design, build and grow a program for low-income entrepreneurs as they prepare for their journey to business ownership.

Coming from a small team, Megan understands what it takes for a business to grow and how to thrive in an ever-changing environment. She is an analytical thinker, team player and brings with her a compassionate heart which allows her to be objective yet understanding.

Megan graduated from the University of Richmond with a double major in Leadership Studies and Business Administration with a concentration in Management. Megan is originally from Ohio but prides herself in being an honorary Richmonder due to her passion and knowledge for the city. From the foodie and brewery scene to local business and community happenings, she loves to spend her time taking advantage of everything this river city has to offer!

Hayley Sykes
Talent Acquisition Consultant

Hayley is a Talent Acquisition Consultant here at Spinnaker. She works closely with senior leadership to design, implement and fine tune our talent acquisition and hiring strategies in order to meet aggressive growth goals.

Providing a high level of customer service is crucial to our success in being able to hire the best and brightest talent into the Spinnaker family.  Because of that, Hayley plays a hands-on role as the primary recruiter acting as brand ambassador, coach and mentor to our candidates in order to ensure they receive an exemplary candidate experience.

Hayley has extensive experience in the arena of talent acquisition, talent management and recruitment operations having worked for a variety of organizations in the UK and US spanning Financial Services, Consulting, Life Sciences, Non-Profit Think Tanks and Design and Manufacturing.

When she isn’t focused on Talent Acquisition, Hayley manages a contemporary art gallery in Washington, VA, representing 15 National and Regional Artists working in a variety of media. She is also partial to chocolate cake, wine tasting, countryside walks with her dogs and travel with her husband.

Paige Wolk
Director of Operations

Paige is Director of Operations for Spinnaker Consulting Group. Throughout her career, she has been guided by her personal motto: “Do what you do well, to empower others to do what they do well.” She leverages her extensive background in finance, operations, human resources, and contract management to create a solid, process-focused foundation for the firm.

Her deep career experience with Fortune 100 companies and small, family-owned businesses provides her with the unique skill set to strategically position the behind-the-scenes building blocks to support the firm’s continued success. Paige is adept at differentiating and responding to the demands of multiple priorities, and has a proven track record managing the challenges of a growing firm.

Paige is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and a proud mother of three. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching VCU Rams basketball, volunteering with her son’s basketball and lacrosse teams, and sharing in the successes of her two grown children — one is a firefighter and the other serves in the United States Navy. With a heart and desire for servant leadership, Paige has successfully managed multiple projects for both local and international adoption and foster care ministries, including Effective Ministries, Inc. and Restoration Village, both in Niger, Africa, and Virginia-based Change Who Waits.
