As a Spinnaker advisor, Teri Reibsamen brings with her over 25 years of operations, regulatory and compliance experience while working for Capital One and over two and a half years consulting for two Fortune 500 Financial Services Companies.
During her career at Capital One, Teri spent over a decade managing the Recoveries Quality Assurance business, which involved building a best-in-class monitoring program that resulted in a 97% average Regulatory, Policy and Customer Experience adherence rate for over 1,500 internal and external employees. She did this by establishing solid relationships with Legal and Compliance experts, while representing the business’ needs and capabilities. While consulting, Teri continues to tap into her operational and regulatory expertise. She helped reduce a Fortune 500 company’s operational and regulatory risk exposure for their Recoveries business by enhancing their control design and effectiveness. Additionally, Teri led remediation efforts that were due to control failures all in support of the heightened regulatory scrutiny. Most recently, Teri has operated as the second line of defense for another Fortune 500 company, evaluated issue documentation and evidence, and determined the effectiveness of control standards to prevent repeat findings.
Teri’s experience is comprised of a broad spectrum of skills that have allowed her to build best in class programs from inception to fully functioning operational work units. These program teams have serviced both internal and external customers consisting of first and third-party agencies and attorney law firms. Teri’s skills also include performing risk assessments, writing effective controls, and designing and delivering training curricula to enhance operational performance. She has been able to leverage her strong people management and relationship building abilities to foster a collaborative and efficient working environment. Her areas of expertise include Operations Process Improvement, Risk Management, Supplier Oversight, Employee Development, Capacity Planning and Performance Monitoring.
Teri is a Clemson University graduate with a degree in Business Management and a concentration in Mathematics / Statistics. A huge college and pro football fan, you can usually find Teri tailgating at either a Clemson, JMU or Dallas Cowboys football game every weekend in the fall with her better half, Mark. During the off season, Teri enjoys traveling, cooking and spending plenty of quality time with her two dogs and three cats.
